The Program
This past February marked a decade since the beginning of the Maoist insurgency in Nepal, and one year since the king established direct rule over the country. Violence and the threat of violence have left no one in the country untouched, and the democratic reforms won in 1990 continue to elude the people.

In this time of dynamic challenges, and especially in light of the indefinite strike called by political parties in Nepal last weekend, I am happy to invite you to a presentation by Journalist Deepak Thapa and Sociologist Anup K. Pahari entitled:

“Nepal: Sources of Instability and Prospects for Democracy”
